A Spooky Giveaway!
Posted on | October 19, 2009 | 60 Comments

What a perfect time for a perfectly spooky giveaway graciously offered by Valerie from Hachette Book Group.
There will be three (3) winners chosen by me (using Random.org) to receive a copy of all five titles:
The Heretic’s Daughter By Kathleen Kent ISBN: 031602449X
Sins of the Flesh By Caridad Piñeiro ISBN: 0446543837
When Ghosts Speak By Mary Ann Winkowski ISBN: 044658133X
BoneMan’s Daughters By Ted Dekker ISBN: 1599951959
The Historian By Elizabeth Kostova ISBN: 0316070637
If this wasn’t spooky enough, Hachette will then be selecting 20 random winners to receive a galley of The Bride Collector, Ted Dekker’s next book.
This giveaway will run from October 19, 2009 (Monday) through midnight CST October 30, 2009 (Friday) with winners notified and announced by November 1, 2009 (Sunday).
The rules you may ask – simple:
- U.S. and Canada residents are only eligible
- No PO boxes – must be a physical address
How to enter:
- Leave a comment with your email
- Click for free on The Animal Rescue Site button (right sidebar) to help give food to rescued animals for 2 additional entries – just mention that you clicked in your comment
- If you would like, for 1 additional entry, let me know about your spookiest read. This is a great way for me (and others) to get some ideas for the ever-growing to-be-read pile – plus I am a sucker for a good scary book
Good luck and happy haunting!!!

Spooky books!
I’m DYING to read The Heretic’s Daughter.
I clicked on the Animal Rescue Button.
I’m not big on reading (or watching) scary stuff, so one of my spookiest reads was probably the Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe. A classic.

Lovely giveaway – and I of course visited the Animal Rescue Site to click. I do so every day, so it almost shouldn’t count! I haven’t read anything really scary since high school, but I was always on the edge of my seat with Dean Koontz. Stephen King was disturbing, but not really scary…everything was dragged out too long.

One of the spookiest books I’ve read lately was actually a YA novel. It combines reading the book with watching short videos on the computer. It was the videos that spooked me. Heh. Book is Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman.
Thanks!
