Awards and this-and-that!

I am terribly behind on acknowledging and passing on those wonderful awards that make you grin (big) when you are the lucky recipient. I am going to take a some time now to catch up.

WHO LOVES YOU

Michelle from The True Book Addict bestowed the Who Love’s You Baby award (big thanks Michelle). This award is designed with one purpose in mind…pass this award onto others who have awarded you in the past. I believe I have passed this one onto almost everyone who has been generous enough to share an award with me..almost:

I happily send this award to Rosemary from Booking it Bus Style and Lisa from Book Blab.

I now want to thank Lisa from Book Blab for the next award. Between a broken furnace (during one of the coldest October weeks ever here) and then my main computer committing suicide, I have been a little bit of a slacker when it comes to commenting. I vow to live up to this award and pass it onto:

Barbara from Melancholy Musings

Natalie from The Book Inn

Alita from Alita Reads

I would love to just pass this onto anyone who takes the time to comment so consider yourself awarded!!!!

And finally, thank you to both Rosemary from Booking it Bus Style and Barbara from Melancholy Musings for the Superior Scribbler award.

This award’s rules are:

Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.

Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.

Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to This Post, which explains The Award and provides a Mr. Linky for the award winners to add their name. That way, we’ll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!

Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.

Amy from Park Avenue Princess

Celia from Adventures of Cecelia Bedelia

Ryan from Wordsmithonia

If you have given me an award and I have inadvertently missed/lost it, please email me and give me a reminder!!!!

Now for the this-and-that.  I usually do not make a mention of any books I receive for review, from giveaways or those that I purchased (other than my “received from” page). I have to mention the great haul I brought home today for such a tiny amount of coins. And yes, I paid with coins. Wait until I tell you the total $$$ spent.

Burning Bright (John Steinbeck)

The Catcher in the Rye (J.D. Salinger)

Travels with Charley (John Steinbeck)

Cat’s Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.)

The Red Pony (John Steinbeck)

The Return of the Native (Thomas Hardy)

The Last Temptation of Christ (Nikos Kazantzakis)

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (Carson McCullers)

Surprisingly, these books are in rather superb condition. The bookstore recently received a donation from an elderly man who is getting ready to move into an apartment and needs to downsize. He is a definite book lover which is lucky for me! And what was the total amount for this little pile of yum – - $3.36!!!
