As much as possible, I try not to read them and instead base my reading choices on reviews and word of mouth and such. If the book has vampires I'll usually check it out although that isn't fullproof since I have yet to read all of Bite Me by I think Illona Andrews or something like that. The only reason I keep the light on would be to read. I might have to keep it on when I start reading It.
